This Weekend

The weekend started off with Jarren getting his 2 month shots on Friday..fun. I actually didn't have to be in there, my mom did it :) I had to go across the hall to my appointment, I was having a biopsy and had to fill out a history form so I had to be early.

After all of that we went and spent the weekend in Ogden with Jake's sister and brother-in-law. It was pretty fun, we just hung out all weekend, and relaxed. We were supposed to go to Lagoon on Saturday, but because of Utah's OH so wonderful weather, it got cancelled. The ride up there wasn't as bad as rides lately with Jarren, he complete hates his car seat, but I figure out if I sit in the back seat and entertain him, it is a much better ride. So I got some cute pictures out of that. We found that Jarren has a "dopey" look (left pic). And that he learned to raise his eyebrow(right pic).

Then on Sunday, we had Jarren's blessing. My Aunt Amanda (mom's side) made Jarren his blessing outfit. It was SO cute! Everyone loved it. We called it his "pimp suit". He looked so good in it. And he was such a good boy for his big day. He was a very quiet baby during his blessing, which is good, cause I was worried he was going to cry. The baby that got blessed last week cried during hers. And then afterwards we went to my parents house for a big luncheon with all of our family and friends that came. It was a long weekend, we had lots of fun, but I'm happy to be home and relax just the three of us for a night before another big week. I think General Conference weekend will be a good weekend for just the three of us too...something to look forward to :)

Check out my Slide Show!

Baby Pictures

This morning we went and had Jarren's professional pictures taken. He was such a good boy and he was awake the whole time. They turned out so well I was so proud of them. People kept stopping outside the window (cause we were in the mall) and watching the "cute little baby" have his pictures taken. It was a proud mama moment. I'm posting them on here (even though I'm probably not technically supposed to. They emailed them to me so it's their own fault ha) He's just too cute to pass up posting.

Playground

Today my friend Nicki came over with her son Logan, he turns 1 next month. We decided to take them to the playground that is at my apt complex. Logan loved the swings. I tried to swing on the swings with Jarren on my lap. He only let me go back and forth a couple of times before he started to cry. Maybe one day (hopefully next summer) he will enjoy swinging. It was a lot of fun to take them outside though, especially since it's going to start getting cold here soon. I heard it's supposed to snow this weekend, I'm not excited, I hate the snow. I know...what am I doing in Utah then right? I'm not sure, maybe one day we will move somewhere where it is always warm. :)

Thanks..

Thanks to Keri, I am now addicted to blogging. And since it is 1:50am and I'm awake taking care of Jarren I decided to add some more pics and show you the cool thing I did today. I have been wanting to make a family sign since we got married last year and with Keri's assistance in getting me the lettering I finally finished it tonight. I'm very proud of myself. I've never really been creative and ever since I had Jarren it has just come out in me, or at least I think so.

I also wanted to post the very cute pictures of Jarren I discovered on my camera this afternoon, I guess Jake took them when I wasn't in the room, but I thought they were VERY cute. I am the mother though so that is always my opinion.

New Signature

I am on babycenter.com for information on my baby, I have been since the beginning of my pregnancy. It's a site where I can talk to other women at my stage of pregnancy/women who have babies the same age and I can get updates on my baby weekly. Someone on the website made me a signature for my posts and I thought it was so cute, I wanted to share it!

Everyday he is bigger...

I can't believe how big my baby is getting! It's amazing how fast he grows. He has started smiling at me now when he sees me. That is the most amazing feeling! He will also get in moods where I'm the only one who can calm him down, which is cute and hard at the same time. The other day I was in the shower and Jarren was screaming and Jake brought him into the bathroom and all I had to do was talk to Jarren and he stopped. I love being a mom.

Jarren's first road trip and Jake's first Cardinals game.

This past weekend Jake was going to go to Phoenix, AZ and leave me and Jarren at home. Friday right as he was getting ready to leave, I told him I wished I could go with him cause I didn't want to be home alone all weekend. He said "WHY NOT??". So Jarren had his first roadtrip. Poor kid, he hates his car seat now because we were constantly in the car, but he had his first one!

The trip was really short, I wish we could have stayed a little longer and visited some family down there. We left on Friday night, stayed in St. George for the night, woke up the next morning and drove all the way to Phoenix. We made it just in time for me to drop him and his brother and sister off at the game. Then after the game I picked them up and we got food and went to bed. Then we drove all the way back home on Sunday. LOTS of car time!
We had fun in the car though, we saw some cool things. We stopped at the Hover Dam where some of transformers was filmed, it's really pretty there. We also saw this crazy van that was all hippy. We had a lot of fun and got some really good pictures for Jarren's Scrapbook.

Beautiful Baby Boy

On July 28th, our beautiful baby boy was born. Jarren was 8lbs 21 inches long. He kept trying to come out until I went into labor and then he refused to come out! Jake and I were at the movies watching Harry Potter 5 with 2 of our friends, Michele and Brian. My water broke with about 30 minutes left. Jake rushed me to the hospital, we have now decided we should have just stayed and finished the movie :)
Labor was 21 hours long. I had an epidural half way through and finally was able to rest a little bit. Then the time came to push and I pushed for 2 1/2 hours. Even though I was fully dilated, he just wouldn't crown. He wasn't able to drop far enough down to crown. So they did a c-section and Jarren was born at 6:28pm. He is a very happy baby and is hardly ever fussy.

The wedding

On August 11, 2006 we got married in the Mt. Timpanogos Timple. It was the happiest day of our lives. Everything was so beautiful and the weather was perfect.

Our session was at 10am, we had a lunch at 2pm, and then our reception was at 7pm. It was the most perfect day ever.

At the reception we got to talk to all our friends and family, I think my favorite part was probably the cake, but that is because I got to smear it all over Jake's face. Some people say I was mean, but he told me to bring it and you just can't let a challenge go like that. So I brought it :)

My brother Dallin caught the bouquet the first time, but since he was a boy the girls convienced him to let me through it again and one of my roommates, Mary, caught it the second time.

Overall it was the best day ever, we got married for eternity. Then throwing in all of our family and friends, it was just one huge party, couldn't ask for anything more!

How we met...

Jake and I have been friends for a long time. I met him when I was 14 and he was 16. A mutual friend introduced us at a stake dance. Ever since I laid eyes on him I wanted him to be mine, but I had to wait 6 years before I could marry him.
We dated on and off all through high school, nothing serious. We were (well we still are) very competitive so we would always have fun playing basketball together. We had fun doing anything together, we were best friends. When he left on his mission it was very hard on me because he was the person I went to for everything. We wrote while he was on his mission though. I didn't write to him as much as I should have until 3 months before he came home. In October of '05 I got the feeling I was going to marry him, so I started writing to him every week. :)
Jake came home in January of '06. I pursued him like crazy! He thought he was going to go down to Dixie for college, but in March I got him to start dating me and in May I got him to propose to me. Though he did surprise me on that day. I knew it was coming, but my sister Katie told a fib and told me to expect it the following Wednesday when we were going hiking, instead on mothers day he took me on a walk through the canyon at bridal veil park and after 45 minutes of walking, pulled me off the path and by the river he proposed.
