Jarren's first road trip and Jake's first Cardinals game.

This past weekend Jake was going to go to Phoenix, AZ and leave me and Jarren at home. Friday right as he was getting ready to leave, I told him I wished I could go with him cause I didn't want to be home alone all weekend. He said "WHY NOT??". So Jarren had his first roadtrip. Poor kid, he hates his car seat now because we were constantly in the car, but he had his first one!

The trip was really short, I wish we could have stayed a little longer and visited some family down there. We left on Friday night, stayed in St. George for the night, woke up the next morning and drove all the way to Phoenix. We made it just in time for me to drop him and his brother and sister off at the game. Then after the game I picked them up and we got food and went to bed. Then we drove all the way back home on Sunday. LOTS of car time!
We had fun in the car though, we saw some cool things. We stopped at the Hover Dam where some of transformers was filmed, it's really pretty there. We also saw this crazy van that was all hippy. We had a lot of fun and got some really good pictures for Jarren's Scrapbook.

Beautiful Baby Boy

On July 28th, our beautiful baby boy was born. Jarren was 8lbs 21 inches long. He kept trying to come out until I went into labor and then he refused to come out! Jake and I were at the movies watching Harry Potter 5 with 2 of our friends, Michele and Brian. My water broke with about 30 minutes left. Jake rushed me to the hospital, we have now decided we should have just stayed and finished the movie :)
Labor was 21 hours long. I had an epidural half way through and finally was able to rest a little bit. Then the time came to push and I pushed for 2 1/2 hours. Even though I was fully dilated, he just wouldn't crown. He wasn't able to drop far enough down to crown. So they did a c-section and Jarren was born at 6:28pm. He is a very happy baby and is hardly ever fussy.

The wedding

On August 11, 2006 we got married in the Mt. Timpanogos Timple. It was the happiest day of our lives. Everything was so beautiful and the weather was perfect.

Our session was at 10am, we had a lunch at 2pm, and then our reception was at 7pm. It was the most perfect day ever.

At the reception we got to talk to all our friends and family, I think my favorite part was probably the cake, but that is because I got to smear it all over Jake's face. Some people say I was mean, but he told me to bring it and you just can't let a challenge go like that. So I brought it :)

My brother Dallin caught the bouquet the first time, but since he was a boy the girls convienced him to let me through it again and one of my roommates, Mary, caught it the second time.

Overall it was the best day ever, we got married for eternity. Then throwing in all of our family and friends, it was just one huge party, couldn't ask for anything more!

How we met...

Jake and I have been friends for a long time. I met him when I was 14 and he was 16. A mutual friend introduced us at a stake dance. Ever since I laid eyes on him I wanted him to be mine, but I had to wait 6 years before I could marry him.
We dated on and off all through high school, nothing serious. We were (well we still are) very competitive so we would always have fun playing basketball together. We had fun doing anything together, we were best friends. When he left on his mission it was very hard on me because he was the person I went to for everything. We wrote while he was on his mission though. I didn't write to him as much as I should have until 3 months before he came home. In October of '05 I got the feeling I was going to marry him, so I started writing to him every week. :)
Jake came home in January of '06. I pursued him like crazy! He thought he was going to go down to Dixie for college, but in March I got him to start dating me and in May I got him to propose to me. Though he did surprise me on that day. I knew it was coming, but my sister Katie told a fib and told me to expect it the following Wednesday when we were going hiking, instead on mothers day he took me on a walk through the canyon at bridal veil park and after 45 minutes of walking, pulled me off the path and by the river he proposed.
