For Nicki and Kirk...or "Nickirk"
Valentine's Day:
The holiday was probably named after St. Valentine, a Christian priest killed by the Roman emperor Claudius for preaching Christianity, although several priests with this name met similar fates.
One Valentine was killed Feb. 14, A.D. 270, for continuing to perform marriages after Claudius issued an order forbidding priests to do so. The emperor wanted young men to become soldiers rather than husbands and fathers.
Another legend connects the day to Lupercalia, an ancient Roman festival celebrated on Feb. 14. On that day, young women would put slips of paper with their names into a bowl. Then young men would draw out the names of the girl who'd accompany him to parties and dances in the coming year. Christians adopted the pagan celebration as a day to honor a saint.
During the Middle Ages, Europeans believed birds chose their mates on Feb. 14. The followed the birds' example. The French and English threw parties on Valentine's Day following customs similar to Lupercalia's. As more people learned to read and write, they began sending poems and cards to their sweethearts. The Valentine card industry was born when companies started making special valentines for the less creative.
Richard Cadbury designed the first "chocolate box" in 1868 with he decorated a candy box with a painting of his young daughter and her kitten. He also invented the first heart-shaped Valentine's Day candy box that same year.

Battle Wounds
My friend Yersa's little boy rolled off their bed the other day, she posted it in her blog. He was very lucky and landed on a basket of laundry.

Extra Money
So I signed up under my sister for this program called gypsybug.com. Basically you can make an extra $40-$400 a month. Gypsybug.com is an online Classified Ad's Website. Basically they pay you to advertise for them by placing their sticker in your window. You do not need to use the big sticker they send you in the start pack (Starter pack is $19.95) You can make your own, which can be smaller, but must be readable.
Qualifications to start getting paid: You need to sign up 3 people under you, Place the sticker in your window and send them a picture of it with your license plate number, place an ad on their website (which really doesn't need to be an ad, it can be a recipe for example. I put on my chicken enchilada's)
Also, if you can't find three people to sign up, you can call the company and they will sign three people up under you, they just won't be in your area. If you sign up the three people you get a gauranteed $40 a month and if you sign up 10 people it will be $400 a month, then there are the prices in between which I'm not sure of. If anyone is interested in the program to make some extra money for gas, food, house payments whatever...let me know.

3 Full Hours
I was actually able to attend three full hours of church today. Usually towards the end in relief society Jarren starts acting up and I have to walk out with him...not today! I actually signed my name on the roll, that hasn't happened in months.

Pots and Pans
I was cleaning out our cupboards and accidently banged some pans/cake pans together and Jarren busted up laughing. I didn't figure out at first what he was laughing at until I did it again. Now I know what to do when he won't stop crying.

Cancellations
I had no idea church could be cancelled. Today with about 45 minutes left our branch president told us to go home the snow was getting too bad. Alpine got 14 inches and they are just a little North of us. I know we got about a foot where we are if not more.
SO MUCH SNOW!
Apparently I'm not the only one who didn't know this. Kirk's response:
"church can get canceled? they can do that sorta stuff?"
